shanatical11.12.24 note: this!! I finally found it again!! Do you know how hard it was to search for a Naruto fic that specifically mentions snow shoes/socks?? That was the most vivid memory I had of this fic (besides the ninneko) that I could use as unique search word, haha. Anyway, I'm so glad to have found this - I /need/ to reread it soon.

Good thing Steve was there to jump on top of him before the ceiling did.
Only thing is: now, they're kind of stuck. And while Steve is visibly displeased with the situation, certain parts of him disagree with that consensus.
It's almost impossible not to have a long, hard think about your sexuality when you've got an aroused super-soldier pinned on top of you for an indeterminate length of time. Especially if he's admitting his boner is not exactly coincidental.

It’s in the middle of scanning the last bottle of green tea that Itadori properly looks up. Eye contact with him is a physical, unexpected shock, a crunch of imaginary static snapping through Megumi and leaving his hands twitching at his sides.
"Hey." Itadori blinks, wide and earnest. "Do I know you from somewhere?"
The tea sloshes backwards in the bottle he’s holding. Megumi focuses on this until his vision steadies.
"No," he says. "I don’t think so."
In the aftermath, Itadori loses his memories instead of his life. Megumi grieves nonetheless.

They wore the song to its bones, until they knew every line, until they could sing it forwards and backwards. Until the song carried so much weight that it was no longer a basic riff, but a collection of memories.
