Summary
It’s a shame, then, that Svin will be going to Zoology. Passion for magecraft is the only thing that Waver can ask of a student, and it’s clear that Svin has it in spades. But at the end of the day, it’s the right decision. Zoology is better suited for Beast Magecraft, and Lord Gaiuslink has more experience dealing with odd cases like this. Waver wouldn’t know what to do with a nine-year-old student—Gaiuslink probably already has a protocol in place and a professor who specializes in dealing with children. It’s for the best. Waver should consider himself lucky that he gets to help along with this process at all, and who knows? Maybe one day, when he’s been at the Clock Tower for a few years, Svin Glascheit will stop by the department for a lecture or two. On that day, Waver will be prepared to teach him. But now? No. He’s not ready now.
Waver Velvet El-Melloi II is not prepared for Svin Glascheit. Svin enters his life anyway.
