Jesus Christ this is... amazing but like. Genuinely what the fuck, I cant even begin to talk about all the ways this fic makes me feel. Ive so bed and I've giggled like a madman and I'm just. So emotionally drained jfc. But its so so so good, its been a long time since a fic left me like this. This is like Embers (atla) level shit.
Author has summaries at tbe end of every chapter but flting through 73 of those is gonna be. Insane. So! Quick fire basics:
Percy 'died' during BotL, captured and held on Princess Andromeda until 18—torture, rape, poseidon told him to 'endure', gods left him to die—when he escapes, asks dad to kill him but he refuses. He arrives at CJ instead. This is pre-canon, jason still around (reyson starts strong, then some jercy we love) frank bitter about jason being centurion/getting quests before him etc.
Nico was the prophecy child, annabeth withdrew and focused only on winning — never really groeved percy, helped by how she took backbiter from Luke and gaea possessed it to never let her move on — and doesn't believe CJ-Percy is real, even when she meets him in person. Nico was the one that noticed percy when he brought hazel back from dead and arrived in CJ to deliver her to the legion.
The camps are aware of each other! Pre-SON!! But post-TLH and no memory stealing/hero swap by hera. They do ambassador exchanges, percy refuses to go back to CHB. The exchanges help, people realise shit, annabeth realises this is the real percy when she TRIES TO KILL HIM WIRH BACKBITER and he calls her wise girl. Theyre okay now and they officially open their relationship.
She goes back to CHB, poly-shit happens between reyna/jason/percy which percy regrets bc he doesn't want annabeth to feel threatened (would do anything for her) which reyna had big feelings about bc that hurts jason. Anyway they go to CHB to seal an alliance with the amazon's (hi hylla! Wow, sisters back together for life) and reynabeth fuck (WOAH DUDE CHILL) then they get back and Frank/Hazel are on SON quest without percy (frank dealing with fading SPQR tattoo, needing to leave legion 'for himself', no longer feeling at home. Wants to make a change in the world)
Surprise! CJ is being attacked just like in SON! Except the Greeks arrive to help them and Percy kills Polybotes alone bc his powers grew exponentially and now rival a mjnor God but he's not immortal dw (hey so. WHAT THE FUCK) and in the aftermath, the 4 idiots that are so goddamn hornt Jesus's christ— they speak and form a tentative poly-quad.
Oh did I mention that jason/frank/percy blew up the princess andromeda post-ambassador-swap and promethius showed jason snippets of percy's past, and percy blood-bent Antaeus to death? Huh? I left that out? Funny.
Is that everything? No. I dont have time for everything. This fic is insane, future me, but chapter 73 was uploaded on my birthday, 2 days after I found it so. Its a sign or whatever.
Working polycule! Yay! Choosing the Seven - Percy, Jason, Annabeth, Reyna, Frank, Hazel, Leo. NO PIPER, NO NICO interesting choices.... jason swears on the Styx to protect percy which is. Uh. That'll definitely go well.....
Jason talking to Octavian realises percy was always the child of prophecy, not nico: luke choosing to assault percy on his hrirhday gave him control over Kronos whcih he used in the final battle and allowed annabeth to kill him. Hazel swears on the styx to 'become the most powerful' when Frank leaves camp (? I thought he was one of the seven??)
