Before Mycena had even finished talking, Fern had the cookie stuffed in her mouth, sold with the words peanut butter. Somehow, you could tell Mycena’s mother had made these, just from the sweetness and the way they were shaped like pineapples, a funny quirk of Mycena’s. Just how many cookies shaped like pineapples has Fern seen in Mycena’s hands again? She’d lost count but it was just about all of them. Something about pineapples just drove Mycena crazy and it was adorable.

The library of memory was silent. It always was. The fate weavers were silent as always and the garden far too still for Reverie’s liking. The library halls didn’t satisfy her now. They were full of memories she didn’t want to look into anymore. The Record keeper wanted records of her own. Though, the balance she had to help maintain was far more important than her own wants. Eventually, Hireath would grow tired of her immortality, or some tragedy would strike and Reverie’s wish to have a life with her would be just that, a wish. So for now, the Record keeper would live her eternal life in the library, spending any time she could with the felvaxian before she’d have to step away for good.

Today was the day. No one was going to get in her way. She loved Sibylle and Bobbi so dearly but gods, she couldn’t do this anymore. Hireath was settling into her new house, Mossy was nowhere to be seen,and she’d already sent her own pets to help Ez with things around the village. All she really had left was to get her project away from the house and she could set things into motion. Part of her wished she could do this on her own, not drag Cossy into it, but the truth of the matter is, she isn’t strong enough to do this. Not when every bone in her body ached to crumble back to dust.
