The Kingdom of Hollownest has grown and flourished under the Pale King and his Queen the White Lady. Many generations have passed in peace. Still with continued peace and growth a kingdom needs land to expand for its citizens. Thus the king starts to expand the kingdoms borders and influence into neighboring realms. To do this the King commissions vessels to act as knights to spare his citizens from any conflict. Thus the Knight Vessels Corps. are created. The citizens only know that there will be more years of prosperity to come from their new guardians.
Princess Hornet, daughter of the Pale King and Consort Herrah, has been assigned a new Guard to aid her in her work patrolling and securing the kingdom.
The Perfect Vessel the Hollow Knight was hand selected and gifted to Hornet by the kings decree. Hornet would have preferred if she didn't have to have a giant void filled shell of a knight babysitting her every move.
But what happens, when the Vessel she's been told is non sentient begins to show signs of life and intelligence?
