A kingdom in midst famine finds a faraway land with an incredibly special crystal that is able to grant the wishes of an individual by making contact with their blood, giving them supernatural powers in the form of gifts that are meant to be reflective of their truest desires. After a long and tiresome war the kingdom wins after using the rock and the gift of the first puppeteer, Pierette, to resurrect their soldiers as toys, successfully colonising the land and renaming it to 'New Hautland'. Though with the war long over and the over production of the crystal there is not a reason to fight or live anymore as death is avoidable and luxury is just a pinprick away.
Bringing us to Pierette's last creation, Reine, a toy made with no purpose and no gift, designed to be as human as possible. Blue stared at the raindrops on the window. It was a very stormy, cold day- most days in Whiteboardville were sunny and hot. Maybe it was a good day to read a book or even play a board game, but for that she’d have to invite someone over and in some cases multiple people.
There was no chance anyone was doing anything on a wet Thursday, so Blue picked up her phone and called Teal.
Teal picked up the phone immediately. “Hello, Blue,” she said. “What do you need?” A scuffling sound came from the other end, no doubt Teal’s little sister, Turquoise.
“Nothing much, but would you and Turquoise come over to play a board game?” Blue asked. “If there’s anyone else you want to come, bring them with you.”
“Sure,” Teal said cheerfully. “I’ll bring hot chocolate mix, how about that? And blankets?”
“Hot chocolate would be good! I’ve got blankets here, you don’t need to bring those.” Blue yawned loudly and Turquoise giggled from the other side of the phone. “Bye!”
Next, Blue texted Brown- calling him would certainly make him feel special. As thunder boomed outside, the mildly annoying clicks of texting sounded from Blue’s phone.
