This is I think what they call a Canon Rewrite, but I'm not sure. It's a different interpretation of what might have happened during the book. I have not written a second chapter yet, as most people apparently didn't find it or just didn't read it on ff. net, and I started to write Role Reversal instead. Summary
Hux has a combat simulation program developed for all First Order personnel and has a sim of himself as the final boss. He congratulates himself when the program becomes a massive success, unaware of the fact that hackers have changed the coding to dress his sim in increasingly scandalous outfits. When Hux finds out that Ren is spending a large amount of time in the sim he gets suspicious and pulls up the video logs of Ren's sessions, only to realize that Ren is seeking much more than combat training from Hux's sim. After some thought and planning, Hux decides to give Ren the real thing.

The only way for Steve to escape the virtual reality is to wake up. Problem is, he doesn't know that the virtual reality isn't real.

He levels a long, considering look at Allura. Her fingers are twisting knots into her skirt, worry coloring her face. She’s so pale that her cheek highlights actually look luminescent. Coran doesn’t look much better, with a droopy mustache and eyebags so big they could be marketed as luxurious goods in Milan’s next fashion show.
“We all agreed to try this mind thing because Altean warriors used to do it to strengthen themselves. Confront their inner demons. Know thyself before thy enemy and all that. But then somehow - somehow, Galra tech gets mixed in. And this Galra tech is, of course, corrupted.” Keith feels the urge to put his head in his hands. “How did this happen again?”
