Summary
He nearly didn't notice the missing tires. The Batmobile's front tires were already gone, and upon closer inspection, a third in the rear was being removed. Bruce cleared his throat.
Dark blue eyes shot up toward Batman. "Whoops."
"I think you've got something of mine," Bruce deadpanned.

"They're starting to come through, and I can't stop them. They're here--because of you."
Peter forced the words out once he had the idea.
"What if I wasn't here?"
***
Peter Parker makes one last gamble, asking for Dr. Strange to send him to a new universe--one so far his enemies wouldn't be able to come through the portal and follow him, or endanger his friends. The spell works, and Peter finds himself in the dark, smog-filled streets of Gotham City. Weak from the interdimensional journey, he finds an alliance and friendship with none other than a young street thief in a dirty red hoodie.

Summary
No matter how quickly they pump their legs and run, they can’t seem to shake the police hot on their heels. Regret is pooling in their cramping guts, but it’s too late. They can’t turn back the clock to an hour ago when they hadn’t robbed the corner store at knife point for the measly stash in the register. At the time, desperation hadn’t allowed for rational decision making. And now at this point, they’re in too deep.

Summary
Everyone knows Jason Todd’s story—Robin, runaway, one of Gotham’s greatest tragedies. But in this version, the tragedy never comes.
While searching for his birth mother, Jason sees a girl leap through a mirror as if it were water. His reckless curiosity wins, and he follows her into Wonderland—a place without blame, hunger, or Gotham’s crushing expectations. A place where he finally feels free.
And where he meets Alice.
Instead of dying at the Joker’s hands, Jason grows up beside her—two misfits finding belonging in a world that bends reality around them. But Wonderland can’t hold him forever.
When he finally returns to Gotham, the city believes he vanished years ago. And he isn’t alone.
Alice steps through the mirror with him.
Now Jason must face a Gotham that mourned him, a family that changed without him, and a girl who has never known any world but Wonderland. As reality and fantasy collide, Jason must decide:
Is he the boy Gotham lost…
or the one Wonderland saved? -

Summary
“No comment.”
“You don’t know what I was going to ask,” Clark said with a hint of a smile. “Maybe I just wanted to congratulate you on catching the Film Freak.”
Bruce gave him a flat look.
“Or maybe I think I can help.”
“With a case of vandalism?”
Clark stepped in front of him. “It’s not vandalism and you know it, detective.”
“And what makes you say that?”
“If it were vandalism it would be something a lot more juvenile. To the point. It wouldn’t claim there were seventeen missing kids. That’s public outcry.”
“Is that so?”
“That and I tried to do a story on the growing number of homeless children last month and I got shut down. According to the last count, the numbers have been decreasing, but there’s been no change in policies, no extra funding to CPS, or shelters, or even an increase in the number of inmates in the juvenile detention center. So where are they going?”
Detective Bruce Wayne may have the highest solve rate in Gotham, but if he wants to solve this case, he’ll need the help of an elusive street kid, and while Dick Grayson always lands on his feet, he usually lands himself right into trouble.

Jason clicked the pen, and started to write on the envelope.
Dear Mr., “Gotham’s foster care is safe.”,
Thank you so much for dropping me off at Ma’s personal soldier camp.
I had a great time, truly a ten out of ten experience.
I loved the part where I got shot in the arm. A real highlight of my week.Thank you for your genius-level, billionaire insight. You really nailed it. Incredible stuff. You could teach a class on how out of touch you rich twats are.
Since you were so kind to drop me off somewhere so safe and warm. I thought you might enjoy these documents.

After Jason is hit by a magic spell that turns him into a child, Tim steps up to take care of his brother.
Parenting is harder than Jason makes it look.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jason grunted as he ducked behind cover, narrowly avoiding the sorcerer’s spell.“It don’t gotta be like this!” He shouted. “Jus’ come quiet-like ‘n’ maybe you won’t end up in Arkham!”
“You’ll never take me alive!” The sorcerer shouted like a walking cliche.
“That can be arranged.” Jason growled as he refilled his ammunition.
Summary
11-year-old Jason Todd is on his hands and knees, tire iron in hand, yanking the tires off the Batmobile when itty bitty 8-year-old Tim Drake catches sight of him from his place on the rooftops. He climbs down the fire escape to (attempt to) yank Jason to his feet. "I can see Batman coming, you big dummy!" the younger boy hisses, "What are you, stupid?"
Jason has never seen this tiny, feral child before in his whole entire life, but he allows himself to get dragged away from the car anyway. Well. He managed to escape with one of the tires at least, and a whole new little brother. Bonus!
A love-hate letter to every enemy-to-caretaker attack on titans tower fic. Usually, the plot goes that Jason's resolve breaks once he finally humanizes Tim as a child to himself.
This is my 300 word argument against the trope.
Or:
Can Tim actually suffer enough to be innocent? Can anyone?
