Summary
Sue wakes in a familiar bed with a stranger’s gun pointed at her—Kurj, but not her Kurj. Dropped into this timeline by the Fates, she must explain the impossible: that they meet across worlds, that they marry in others, and that her unstable powers make him the only safe anchor she has. Kurj keeps his distance, insisting she recover before he lets her close, but Sue’s grief, longing, and instinct keep pulling her back to him. Training, flight, fury, and silence drive them apart until her subconscious betrays her—teleporting her into his bed in her sleep. Now Kurj demands clarity, and Sue demands he stop restraining himself. What follows is a reckoning of power, grief, and choice as two versions of the same souls decide whether to meet in this timeline at last.
