“So,” Louis begins, deciding someone should kick this off, “any ideas how this is going to work?” He ignores the amused look Liam shoots at Niall.
Surprisingly, Zayn’s the one who replies. “Well, we can do whatever we want, right?” he asks tentatively. “There’s nobody else calling the shots this time.”
They’re sitting around one of the bigger tables, and a stunned silence falls over the room as they think about Zayn’s words. It’s just them. No execs, no Simon, no management telling them what to do. They’ve all experienced more freedom - to varying degrees - in their solo careers, but the idea of having control over what they do in the band is new. One Direction has never been theirs.
And now it is.
Thought it was about time I had a go at a reunion fic. UPDATE - this sat unfinished for a loooooong time, but I added a chapter today and am working on the rest!
