Kaito tries to make himself think of the last trial—of Iruma Miu’s hands, reaching for her neck and kept there in rigor mortis. Of Gokuhara Gonta’s face, devastated as Saihara laid out his crime. Of Ouma’s utter lack of remorse. Kaito tries desperately to remember the fury that made him vote for Ouma Kokichi in the end, finger pressed so hard into the screen it turned white. He tries to remember what made his fist clench and find purchase on Ouma’s cheek.
Momota Kaito kills Ouma Kokichi, and it is not a hateful act.

This fic is forever incomplete, but still worth reading!
Different tiny magics can run in families. John's complusion to collect and then give away strange bit useful items to the people he meets runs in his. Eventually he comes across Sherlock as an adult, not at all reminiscent of the tiny boy he gave a skull to as a child, who his gift seems to constantly want to help.
The fic ends on a high note of them going on what seems to be a date (although the Chinese mafia might have a problem with that) -
