Summary
There was something strangely domestic about it, this dangerous young man kneeling on a rug, lips parted over a chipped white saucer, lashes fanning over his cheekbones. The line of his throat stretched. Tsurumi watched it, watched the small, rhythmic swallows, the faint sound of liquid moving.
“Good,” he said, almost under his breath. “That’s it. Take as much as you like. There is plenty. I keep my animals fed.”
Ogata’s hands did not touch the saucer. He left it entirely to Tsurumi to support, to adjust. It created a narrow corridor of dependency between them, a small straight path from porcelain through Tsurumi’s fingers to Ogata’s mouth. He had to trust that the hand would not suddenly tilt, that the gift would not become a punishment.
