They stayed like that. Looking at each other. Catra was ethereal under the flash of lights. Her smile tugged on her lips with as much mischief as gentleness too. Adora was caught off guard.
She’d never seen Catra so soft before. She looked good. Adora admitted she liked seeing Catra relaxed, having a good time.
She then recalled their position and Adora couldn’t help but flash once more. Catra holding her like this had chills running down her spine. But also, she felt flattered. Or more like flustered?
Wait- why would she be flustered? No, Adora wasn’t making any sense. Her brain wasn’t functioning properly.
Catra pulled them upwards. Instead of putting distance however she kept one hand on the blonde’s arm. She gave her infamous laugh. “Oh, man, that was a blast! What do you think, ‘dors?”
Adora tried to speak. She opened her mouth then closed it. She couldn’t put her thoughts in words. Catra laughed again. This time fondly. Adora felt her heart aching.
It’d been so long.

Princess Awiwa carried on with whatever she was doing; which was pouring vitals into a huge cauldron for no apparent reason apart from scrambling down her findings in an old notebook.
“You may want to try addressing her differently if you want her to respond. She hardly reacts at Awiwa,” the mega pony beside her corrected her. Catra whipped her head to give a scoff at the talking horse.
“Oh, yeah? And like what should I call her? Idiot? Nerve-wracking blonde? All brawn but no brain boulder–”
“Adora.”

This is going to be my longest, most in-depth fic yet. I really like reading stories where Catra is She-Ra instead of Adora, and I wanted to write my own. It's also going to have more mature themes and scenes and will be heavier in descriptions of violence than the actual show. It starts off following the events of the show, but will eventually diverge off into its own story.

ok so this is SUPER unfinished i haven't even finished all of Ch1 but i just had to post it now bc omg I'm so excited to do this- I'm rewriting the show, one ep per chapter, as if Catra were the main character- but in this AU of mine, she falls out of the skiff and finds the sword instead of Adora, and upon touching it, Shadow Weaver reads her thoughts, learns of her abuse and vulnerabilities, and decided that she could be used as the key instead of Adora. so Adora goes back to the horde, and Catra joins the rebellion.
I know its not realistic of her character to leave Adora but suspend your disbelief, this will be full of lots of delicious pining angst and also lots of fun AU version best friend squad hijinks. I'm using the transcripts found on the fandom wiki as my reference, but I'm not writing this in screenplay form, it will be like a normal perspective fic. I hope you enjoy and like my idea!

Summary
Adora is no longer She-Ra. The sword is broken and with Horde Prime and his clones raging across Etheria, she knows she needs to fix this. But when Adora wakes up with pain in her side and memory foggy, not remembering anything three months after the Heart of Etheria, she finds herself in an alternate timeline where she is dead and Catra is She-Ra. This is a reality where she can stop Horde Prime from ever coming and then hopefully, maybe, she can find a way back home.
Catra didn't ask to be She-Ra. She hates the idea of being chosen. Of having a destiny. But being She-Ra and being part of the Rebellion is something Adora would have done, and Catra would do anything for Adora. However, on the way back to Brightmoon with Glimmer and Bow, Catra finds an unconscious Horde soldier in the woods that looks a little too much like Adora. Then that person ends up being Adora. And when interrogating her, Catra discovers that this Adora is from a different world, where she doesn't know Catra.
But what they both don't know is that their fates are now intertwined and nothing will ever stay the same.
