Things get awkward when, in the present day, Thor discovers it was Steve who 'defiled' his brother and 'left' him to raise the baby alone (because I think it's canon that Loki and Thor are still considered pretty young in Asgard).

Bucky hasn't been himself for a long time, and even though it would be so easy to answer the Winter Soldier's questions about their relationship with lies in order to finally have Bucky the way he has always wanted him, Steve knows he can't use Bucky like that. Bucky has been used for long enough. But when Bucky starts to remember his past and begins to act like himself again, albeit with a lot more nervous glancing and shaking hands, Steve's resolve slowly starts to crack. And when on Steves's 99th birthday Bucky starts to dance like THAT, his mouth goes dry, his cheeks burn hot, and he can't seem to remember why he was trying so hard in the first place.
