“Wouldn’t dream of it,” Wen Ruohan replied, teeth clenched and brow furrowed as he fought off the pain. Blood leaked out from the corner of his mouth despite his words. “I suppose the stain of red on white is terribly hard to get out.”
His tone was bitter, angry, and he was probably making some sort of very clever metaphorical point, given the Lan sect’s white robes and Wen sect’s emblem of red and white.

Summary
Noble society was no place for him, and with no other place to run to, he went to hide in the temple, hoping he could at least be useful for Ehrenfest by donating his abundant mana.
Years passed, and when almost all hope of ever being happy had left him, a young devouring commoner came to the temple, turning its established order upside down.
Feeling the need to hold her reins, he started getting close to the weird girl despite knowing she would never grow to be a partner for him that could relieve him of the pain his heats brought, but he was fine with it, their platonic friendship was more than he felt entitled to hope for.

A gorgeous weave born from her tears, even if aesthetically pleasing, could never be truly beautiful. This time, however, the gods decided to call her guardians for a good 'parent-teacher' meeting.
May the sinners learn the depths of her being: she was poetry in a world that was still learning the alphabet.
