“Chim, can you toss me that box of gloves from the top cupboard, please?”
As soon as he said the words, Buck had reacted, flinging himself upright and pressing his body back against the arm of the couch as if he were desperate to escape Eddie's touch. Luckily for Buck, Eddie was the only one who caught it, everyone else in the vicinity too concerned with their own tasks.
“Gloves!” Chimney announced, before launching the small, cardboard dispenser box across the dining area at Eddie, who caught it cleanly.
“Fuuuck…” Buck whined, eyes set on Eddie as if he couldn't look away.
“Stop complaining, you've been through worse than this!” Eddie laughed, wiggling his fingers into the first glove. Though, by the look on Buck's face, you'd think he categorically had not been through worse than this. The man looked utterly tortured, flushing brighter than Eddie had ever seen him before and–

Even after a year, all of them were still getting used to living in Stark Towers, er- Avengers Towers? Bob wasn’t sure. It was just a normal morning, turns out Walker is actually a pretty good cook and Bob was really looking forward to some fluffy chocolate chip pancakes. Neither of them knew about the bad dream Bucky had woken up from. Neither of them realized it wasn’t just tiredness that was making him act…different. Neither of them noticed the empty look in his eyes. Not until it was too late.
Or, Bucky has a bad dream that triggers some old Hydra programming that no one knew about. When he wakes up, he’s in full Winter Soldier mode.
John and Bob are the ones to deal with the fallout.
