Nightwing plopped down on the wet concrete and patted the spot next to him. “It’s the Batman went into space and came back when there was a single Robin on patrol tradition.”
“I’m not the only one on patrol.”
“Robin. Nothing is happening, and it’s cold. I spent the first half-hour of my patrol actually patrolling, the next half-hour playing with my phone, and the last few hours in the Cave helping Batman with the post-space trip protocol. I only came back out to find you. You are the only one on patrol.”

“That’s okay,” Lois said, the words a little tight. Hot chocolate was Clark's go-to drink. “I don’t need anything.”
But Mrs. Kent was already moving towards the kitchen, her hands smoothing down her apron and fiddling with her hair and brushing over surfaces as she went, and Lois was struck suddenly with a sense of familiarity; she knew this type of worried fiddling. All that anxious energy had to go somewhere.
Cautiously, Lois followed her. “Maybe some coffee?”
