Shane’s cut off from his tirade of frantic internal dialogue by a low snarl across from him.
Ilya is baring his teeth, the sound ripping out of him vicious enough to send kits running. Gone is the carefree persona he shows the public and in its place is a man reduced to his baser instincts. His eyes flash pure gold, just for an instant, and the Russian’s scent swells impossibly into the air, cloying Shane’s lungs.
“Ya chuvstvuyu zapakh meda, kotoryy stekayet s tebya.”
The words are spit through clenched teeth and Ilya’s nostrils flare. Shane has no idea what the other player said but it’s obvious that he knows, oh god, the Alpha knows that the Omega is wet for him.

Shane is an Omega who can’t afford to let his instincts drive him. Ilya is an Alpha purely driven by instinct. Against the Omega’s knowledge, Shane’s scent is slowly driving the Alpha insane.

Summary
After giving himself to Ilya as congratulations for receiving the MVP award, the Russian goes months without texting or responding to anything from Shane. Being used and discarded hurts--much more than it should for just a situationship centered around sex. So after trouncing Boston in their own barn and seeing Twitter light up with the most recent image of Rozanov with a new female conquest, Shane locks himself in his hotel room alone with just himself, his noise cancelling headphones, and his sparkly, purple, ten-inch vibrating dildo to feel something again. At least that's what he intends to do. He doesn't realize his mistake until J.J. returns to their unlocked shared room and finds Shane taking it silicone-balls deep. The chain of events that follows were both surprising and fully expected.

Shane just got traded to fucking Boston. To where Ilya was. With no apparent fucking reason in the middle of the season. He just won them two cups, why was this happening?

Shane gets traded in the middle of the 2016/2017 season, just before the All-Stars. The Tuna Meltdown never happens and Shane and Ilya amicably decide to stop seeing each other but remain ‘friends’. Both are very ‘happy’ with this decision until Hollander is traded to Boston. Now they must work with each other on the same team while Shane wonders what the hell happened in Montreal to get him traded in the first place. The Boston Raiders learn that Shane Hollander is not a chicken, or a virgin (lol) like everyone believes. And the Metros learn just how important Shane was in winning those cups.
And Cliff Marleau is just trying to figure out why Ilya’s messages to Jane stopped.
