"Do you need me to read for you?"
That made Jason stop in his tracks as if hitting a brickwall. Bruce could feel the intensity of his glare on his neck without looking back.
"I don't need shit from you."
Jason was a stubborn one. He didn't need or want anything from Bruce. He did need something though, and sooner rather than later, because that green haze was only growing stronger with each passing minute.
Bruce shut the batcomputer off and got up from his chair. "I will read," he announced to the air, purposefully not looking at Jason. He didn't wait for an answer before leaving the Batcave.
Jason would join him. Or not. Whichever the case, Bruce would be in the library, with one of his favorite books, sipping on a cup of tea freshly prepared by Alfred while its twin would sit waiting next to a plate of cookies.
Or, Jason is having a Pit rage episode, and Bruce reads for him.
