    Optimus stepped closer. His warmth surrounded Bumblebee like an oil bath, basking against him, dribbling into every inch of his frame. The scout turned up to look up at his own former mentor.

    “You have made me so proud.” Optimus whispered, turning to seize both of Bumblebee’s shoulders in his servos and leaning down slightly so that they were optic to optic. “You have made us all proud. You have taught the Terrans to be good and strong, and to protect us all. Bumblebee, I don’t think there is anything left for you to teach.”

    Oh. Bumblebee’s spark fell, upset and strained.
