But, before this body reverts to what it once was,

She gives them both opportunities for closure, a goodbye — and before they know it, Crisostomo Ibarra and Elías get to talk to the past self of their familiar through a dream. But what’s meant to close the book of their short-lived tale instead makes them believe they can use it to add more chapters, and in conversation with their past selves, who’re clueless of what’s to come, they attempt to rewrite their story.
But history cannot be altered; fate is far too often tempted.

After the theater incident with Boxy Boo, Harley knew something stank and it wasn't just a leak of red smoke or a stray piece of rotten viscera on his shoe. No, it stank of a conniving rat and a precursor of ever closing walls. Hours, days... he knew his time was snipping shorter yet shorter. Especially with Leith's sharper tongue in recent months.
His time at Playtime Co was reaching an end again. He knew it. He knew it was a matter of time before the scales tipped too far and he'd become just another annal in the company's incident reports. He knew, for Quinn's sake, he needed someone trustworthy to watch after him.
______Or, TLDR; Harley's paranoia and walls are up. Preston comes to his office for a meeting and ends up becoming closer to the bane of the labs than he'd ever predict. Harley has an odd request.

It just didn't sit right with me, still having this here without any kind of present-day input about how I feel about this. I'm leaving this here, though, just in case people want to revisit the original they saw in the works up to its completion, in all its flawed glory.
