Summary
When Max is sent away for a month for advanced out of state hospital treatment, Lucas is left with way too much time and way too many feelings. So when he notices the unresolved tension simmering between Will and Mike, he decides to do something about it. But before he can even process what that truly entails, he’s already knee deep in secrets, feelings, and “friendships” that are a lot more complicated than he signed up for.
OR: What starts as a distraction from missing Max turns into the most complicated plan of Lucas’s life as he shifts from helping Will get over Mike to setting them up together (because he’s the bestest, most supportive friend ever, obviously!)

Mike finally starts getting his life together again just before they're all ready to leave after getting all of his feelings out into his writing and he goes to will for help in finishing it. Together they paint and write a new ending for the story whilst rediscovering themselves along the way.

Will finally makes eye contact with him again, a smile playing on his lips. Mike’s eyes dart down to them for a split second, then back up. “Okay.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. I mean, whatever, right? We live together, for God’s sake, and we’ve known each other forever. Who cares if we have to hold hands for three days, too?”
“Exactly,” Mike says too quickly. As stupid as Robin’s plan had sounded when she’d proposed it, now that things were falling into place he found himself eager to get it underway. Treat Will like royalty. Easy.***
Three whole days Will’s heart hasn’t known whether to swell or break or rupture like his appendix. But he’s being discharged tomorrow, so it won’t be an issue for much longer, so for now he just pretends that the hand on his arm wants to be there. Because Will Byers-Hopper has never been chosen on purpose, and until tomorrow, he can pretend that this arrangement didn’t come about under duress.
OR:
New York City, October, 1989. Things have been better since Will moved away from Hawkins and Mike followed him. Until Will's appendix bursts and, in the chaos of getting him to the hospital and finding a medical proxy, Mike accidentally tells the doctors he's his boyfriend.

What is wrong with him. It’s such a loaded question. Why does Will wake up screaming sometimes? Why can’t Will handle the cold? Why are there days when Carlton’s hands on him feel like being kept under water with no way up?
And why can’t Will tell Carlton the truth? How could Will possibly explain it without sounding insane? What is the human translation for being taken and kept in another dimension, violated, and possessed, only to then be violated yet again—
This part of him is something Will is never going to be able to share with anyone else. That nobody would understand.
Why won’t you tell me what’s wrong with you.
“Because you wouldn’t get it.” Will somehow manages to say it without gagging.
And then, Carlton goes in for the kill.
“Oh, but Mike does?”

Paladin Mike’s jaw tightened. “I do not own him,” he said immediately. “He is—” He stopped, swallowing. His eyes went back to Will softening, and that softness made Mike hate him even more. He could recognize the look, and saw it mirrored in his own eyes countless times.

“He is the Light. By your oath, I am bound to him. My liege.” He bowed his head slightly toward Will, his mouth wrapped around the word like it was a prayer. “My cleric.” He said after, softer.
“Oh my god.” Will flushed, impossibly. “That is crazy. He is actually crazy."
Max, who had been standing with her arms crossed behind them, muttered, “Jesus Christ,” under her breath.
Mike Wheeler is going to explode, because there is an alternate, armoured version of him, following Will Byers around like he belonged to him.

Summary
The Upside Down isn't the only alternate universe the party has to worry about it seems. When something inexplainable happens during a game of D&D, Will is replaced by... Will? Will the Wise appears before everyone, confused on why his friends are wearing such strange garbs and what dungeon he has stumbled into. Meanwhile, Will finds himself surrounded by fantastical versions of his friends clad in armor and robes somewhere far, far from Hawkins. The party now has a new mission to figure out how to get their Wills switched back around, and Mike needs to figure out what this feeling in his chest is all about.
Or
If Will had a nickel every time he was transported into an alternate reality that had some similarities to his normal reality, he'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but its weird that it happened twice, right?

But there’s a bitter envy wrapped around that feeling, a silent wish that Taehyung would just disappear from his life entirely. Most of all, Jimin hates that he’s starting to fall for him, the boy who bruises him in ways no one else ever has.
In a village where softness is scorned and strength is measured by the sweat under your nails, their complicated dance plays out, one of teasing and pushing, anger and protection, laughter and silent storms. Taehyung’s careless cruelty masks something deeper, something he doesn’t yet understand, while Jimin fights not only the world around him, but the impossible feelings growing inside his own heart.

It really could have just been a dream, a hallucination fever-bright. Or it could have been any number of the odd things that happen in the city every hour, every day. A sign that life is truly beginning; that the future is opening up for him, at last. At the very least, it should make for a good story, someday. Jimin ducks his head down again, bites back a smile only for himself, and settles in to wait.
Sixteen hours later a stranger in an alleyway places a hand on his cheek, the touch almost tender; leans in close to whisper a curse into his ear, and just like that, his future ends.
