“Do you want me to stay home? Or Hailey can stay with you if I can’t.” Jay asks softly. The last bad day, just two days ago, he came home to find me laying on the floor in front of the bathroom, just focusing on being able to breathe. My limbs had given in earlier that afternoon, and I couldn’t even crawl into the hallway. I think that was his breaking point, because ever since then he’s been checking up on me. Not just poking-his-head-into-my-room checking up on me, but treating-me-like-I’m-a-child checking up on me. He’s even gotten Hailey to keep a closer eye on me, and Will has been texting me nonstop since that evening.
Too tired to keep living with her chronic medical conditions, Grace is giving up on herself. The problem is that she's too afraid to tell her brothers and Hailey just how low she's gotten.
