Summary
Stuck in rehab after a near-fatal accident, Tony reaches out via letters to a soldier overseas, and Bucky is more than happy to write back, drawn to Tony for a reason he can't quite name. One or two letters turn into a years worth, then come the phone calls, with Tony quickly realizing that Bucky's voice, with that rolling Brooklyn accent might be his new favorite sound.
When Bucky shows up unannounced at Tony's door, one thing leads to another and maybe a confession or two is made. But Bucky's tour overseas isn't over yet, not even close, and they have months more of distance between them.
Then Bucky disappears, missing in action, and Tony doesn't know if he will ever get his soldier back. And if Bucky DOES make it home, will he be the same boy from Brooklyn who sent Tony love poems, or has his time away and his injuries changed him for good?BONUS CHRISTMAS CHAPTER ADDED 12/10/18

You need to stop the bleeding or we’re going to die.
He sat still and quiet in the abandoned warehouse, hiding from them.
James was telling him something speaking, pushing forward. He grunted trying to focus on the voice in his head.
“What?” He rasped aloud.
He was tired, sluggish, he just wanted to sleep.
No, come on now, not yet. We need to get the bleeding stopped.
He wanted to balk but the voice wouldn’t be stopped. It pushed and prodded talking him through it until he’d had his side bound up and the bleeding contained.
Well done.
He felt a warmth at the praise, the voice…James…he cared.
“Yasha, call me Yasha.”

Summary
When Tony enters the kitchen he is focused on one thing and one thing only - coffee. What he isn't expecting is Barnes to already be in there. What he really isn't expecting is a sassy, verbal Barnes. The man hasn't said a word since he entered the Tower as far as Tony knows. And what he most certainly isn't expecting if for it to become a tradition of late night meetings, flirting and fun that seems to be headed for something more. Right?
