    Born at the turn of the century in rural Tennessee, Thelma grew up in a time when arranged marriages still happened. At a young age, she discovered her powers and developed them into her teen years. As World War I sparked in Europe, Thelma was cornered into an arranged marriage to her best friend. Each felt the other was more of a sibling, and was therefore not happy about the arrangement. Circumstances forced Thelma to run away, rather than marry Chet. She decided to go to Europe and use her powers to heal as a battlefield nurse. Thus she became DR Mercy. This is her story.
