Warm, lithe fingers settled on his jaw.
"Maybe it means you need to stop haunting me. I don't need divination to know that," he answered whilst drunkenly (he kept telling himself) planting a kiss on Gintoki's lips. Hoping this seed would root deep in him as much as in Hijikata.

As the police gives chase, the samurai escapes in a delivery truck carrying the most curious of packages: a high end robot butler that was set to be delivered to the mysterious Hijikata Manor. Seeing no other option, Gintoki decides to take the robot's place and lay low for at the manor while things calm down in Edo.

Gin waved his concerns away. "Ah, don't worry, I'm just a wandering samurai. I'll pay you another beer if you tell me the story." And then I'll gut you like the pig you are, right after you give me the names.
Kabe is a Gintama doujinshi created by the sadistic mastermind Harada which ends very badly for Hijikata.
I wanted a better ending and probably a lot of other people did too so I hope this will satisfy our need for Hijikata being comforted after the events of the doujinshi and Gintoki not being the total asshole Harada depicts him as (I love Harada's work, don't get me wrong, but this one was a bit too much).If you don't know the dj and don't want to go read it, it's okay, I wrote a summary in the first chapter so you know what's going on.

Gintoki wakes up with a jolt, his shonen protagonist senses tingling like crazy. He blinks lazily, trying to think of the last time this had happened. It’s been a while and experience shows that today, more than any other day, will just not be his. He’s not in the mood for a five second fight that lasts multiple episodes, nor ending up as a cat, baby, or changing his gender through cold or hot water. So he does what any sane person in his position would do. He lays back down, squeezing his eyes shut, content on skipping this day entirely.
It's just wishful thinking that he's got a say in this, however.
