Connor knew it hurt his mother that he wouldn't talk to Larry. The only reason he agreed to go to this dinner was because he knew she needed it.
But after the fifth remark from his father Connor was seriously regretting ever agreeing to come. He could feel the heated anger rising in him, growing hotter with every look or passing comment. He was being civil, talking mostly with Zoe and his mom, giving his father short answers when he asked for them. They'd lasted until dessert before Larry brought up Evan, that was the last straw, before Connor stormed out of the restaurant and stomped his way home.

Summary
All things considered, Oscar would say that he was doing pretty well. Not in the race, obviously—that had been fairly shit—but in terms of damage control. He and Lewis had resolved their whole situation peacefully. In his post-race interview, he had remained calm and given the usual neutral answers of "it is what it is" and "we're always pushing to do better." Team debrief had been weird. A lot of shit had happened during the race, and when Oscar was in the middle of so much of it, it was bound to be a little difficult. But it was fine, really.
That was why hours after the race, finishing picking up his drivers room and getting ready to go back to the hotel, he was decidedly not thinking about it. Nope. Not at all.
