“You need to be getting some rest.”
“I will when I’m done with this staining.”
“Seonghwa… that’s what you said four hours ago. Come eat something at least please.”
“Oh so now you care about me?”
“Excuse me?”
“You were acting all standoffish earlier at the luncheon.”
Hongjoong blinked rapidly and he felt his jaw dropping. “You idiot! That’s because that girl was hanging off of you like you were a piece of meat and you just let her! It’s like I didn’t even exist! What was that kiss for then? Were you just playing with me?”
A loud clattering noise sounded throughout the room as a pipette hit the lab counter. Hongjoong gasped as the air was shoved out of his lungs and he found himself with his back pushed against the wall of the laboratory. All of the cardiac scientist’s weight was pressed against his body.
“You are the only one my eyes see.”
With his heart beating rapidly in his chest, Hongjoong’s eyes fluttered closed as plush lips pressed harshly against his own in a burning kiss.

Summary
After having lost the one Hongjoong thought would be his love from his grasp, Hongjoong wasn't prepared to find himself mending his heart through a pretense relationship that came in the form of Park Seonghwa and his gentle touches. Ones that felt like they could truly love him even without the promises to him of any payment.
Because how could Hongjoong forget? Seonghwa was also paying him and his unpaid bills for his services. No matter how fast Hongjoong was also falling like the constant rain in summer.

Kim Hongjoong is a 28-year-old employee who has returned to college to pursue his passion for sound engineering.
Park Seonghwa is the CEO of Mars Group, a successful business he co-founded with his best friend and assistant, Choi San.Their paths cross when Seonghwa hires Hongjoong as a sound technician for the opening ceremony of his latest luxury hotel.
