    Summary

“Ya know,” Chuuya called before Dazai left the room, “this is a pretty fucking shitty birthday gift.”

“Oh, is it your birthday?” He placed a hand over his mouth, covering a silent gasp, “I didn’t even know!” And with the most innocent of smiles and a shrug, he left the room.

    Or:

Five times Dazai gifted Chuuya a book for his birthday, and the one time he added something else, too.

    Summary

Our favorite boys, Chuuya and Dazai, got Vegas hitched when they were eighteen, drunk, and very stupid. It was a mistake that should have been fixed by morning. But neither of them ever filed the annulment papers.

Now, four years later, Fyodor Dostoevsky has found their marriage certificate and decided to make it everyone's problem, starting with kidnapping Chuuya and broadcasting it to the Armed Detective Agency.

Dazai's going to need a very good explanation, and possibly a rescue plan. In that order.

(Two idiots got married and forgot about it. Fyodor didn't let them forget. Now they'll have to wade through what could have been and what might yet be.)

    Summary

"Dazai..." Chuuya's voice comes out too tight and small, unlikely to ever reach Dazai. His hand lifts shakily, in some dazed attempt to stop him. There is panic wild and fast in his chest, the beginnings of hyperventilation, his breaths shallow and quick.

    Something's wrong, something's wrong—

This hurts too much, it's not supposed to be like this—

His vision is blurring, and his head is taut and aching with the stress and anxiety and so much anguish that he can barely comprehend it.

The last of Dazai's hazy form disappears, far in the distance.
    _______

Forced into a difficult situation, Dazai has to leave Chuuya behind post-Corruption without his usual thorough check-up. Only, he has no idea just what state Chuuya was in as he was walking away from him that night.

Grief is a good teacher on how to value those you love. When he gets Chuuya back, Dazai uses his lessons well.

    Summary

For most who found out that Dazai Osamu was in love, they went through the five stages of grief—denial (“That’s impossible!”), anger (A guy like Dazai?!”), bargaining (“Why him?”), depression (“This world is messed up.”) and finally, acceptance (Who the hell is it?”).

So, it was with great fanfare that many started poking around to find the person who held Dazai’s heart. After all, it is not every day you hear that the suicidal maniac, whose hobby was asking ladies out for double suicide, actually has someone he holds affections for.

That is how they met one Nakahara Chuuya.

(or Everyone knows that Dazai Osamu is in a relationship. Except Chuuya)

Alternatively titled: Wei Wuxian's Letters to Jiang Cheng and Jiang Cheng's Lack of Reply

"The letter is unremarkable. Wei Wuxian talks about his travels. He was in a village near the border of Yunmeng last week (Not in Yunmeng. He hasn’t set foot inside his borders since that night, if Jiang Cheng’s intel is to be believed. Good. All Wei Wuxian would bring is chaos, and he has enough of that already.) and now he’s traveling toward Qinghe. He talks about the food he’s been eating and the sights he’s seen and the gossip he’s heard that is worth less than the paper he’s writing it on.
It’s pointless. Fluff. The kind of things two people talk about when they need to make conversation and don’t want to bother saying anything important. As if Jiang Cheng cares about any of this! Wei Wuxian doesn’t have to write him! If he’s bored, he should go back to Gusu or Lanling or write someone who actually gives a damn! Why does he have to interrupt Jiang Cheng’s day to tell him absolutely nothing?"
