It was midday when he was called down to the office. Pennyworth was back, a sleek black car parked up front. Damian was confused, this was not discussed beforehand. Something must have happened. He opened the passenger door to inquire but the man's expression stopped him in his tracks. His face was tense and mouth pulled into a frown. He looked unkempt. Damian quickly slipped in and shut the door and that is when the news was given.
The rest was a blur. Ace was dying, they wanted him to say goodbye.
