Summary
Five perspectives on Thanatos and Zagreus as they fall, and in the aftermath.
“He's not leaving,” Thanatos bites back. “There's nowhere to go.”
Ah, the words of a god. To Achilles’ once-mortal eyes, there are cracks and open windows and doors with just the right key and escape routes aplenty from the House. “So you'd think. I guess wherever he goes, you'll be seeing him either way.”
Thanatos turns to him and it's as if this had never occurred to him. “What do you mean?”
“Didn't you tell him? It's a hard world out there. I’m sure he'll find out, and I don't know anything that can bleed that doesn't wash up here eventually.”

Summary
“You’re so beautiful,” Zagreus whispers as if it’s a confession. He’s breathless with the truth of it. He kisses Than’s jaw before finding his lips. His skin thrills beneath Than’s touch. His heart lurches. “I—Than… you were just so beautiful.”
Speaking it doesn’t ease the pain; his chest feels as if it will crack, sending the love multiplying within him spilling forth, but such sublime suffering it is.
Than gets the recognition he deserves.

Summary
“Thanatos, do you resent me for leaving?” she asks. “Do the others?”
The muscles of his jaw tighten, just slightly, barely there. He tries to hide it, to mask the flex of his fingers as adjusting the fabric of his chiton. But Persephone has plenty of practice in reading those who would rather pretend their emotions are a brick wall, so she notices regardless.
“I have no reason to resent you for your departure, Your Highness,” Thanatos says. The words are careful, diplomatic. “It is not my business to get involved in your family affairs.”
(Persephone and Thanatos, in the garden of Persephone's cottage on the surface.)
