  1. Summary

A series in (at least) three parts.

'With Mary, he’d done everything in the right order — if at breakneck speed: flirting, sex, seriousness, rude and awkward realism, proper caring. He and Sherlock, though, had spent so many years loving each other quietly, imagining fantasy versions of each other, in amongst the everyday of bad tempers and absent-minded scratching, that never were interrupted by mismatched desires or poor communication. Was it possible (he thought, in a slightly out-of-body way, scrawling out a prescription) they had missed the opportunity to be in love with each other?'

    Summary

The Swiss National League doesn’t care about the legendary Hollander-Rozanov rivalry. When the MLH can’t negotiate with the Hockey Players’ Union in time to prevent a hockey lockout at the start of the 2015 season, the Zürich Lions jump at the chance to sign both Shane and Ilya to short-term contracts. For four months in Switzerland, they share a team, a line, a house, and a bed.

Then the lockout ends in January, and it’s time to go back. Back to different countries, cities, lives. Beds.

    Reentry is harder than expected.

    Hollanov; AU: TOW Zürich.

You wondered, maybe, how quickly they could fall in love if they actually had time together earlier—real, sustained time, alone together? Okay but did you then wonder what would happen if that time was *just long enough* to fall in love, and just short enough to make the secret relationship an open wound? DID YOU?

Unbelievable. One chapter in the most, erm, economical prose you can imagine... if the thing you're trying to imagine with your very economical imagination is *pining*. Walking around with a broken heart. Yearning, even.

NOW FINISHED. Already re-read. Incredible. An AU in the best sense—because "When I don’t touch you it’s a mistake in any life, / in each place and forever."

Spock and Jim both have their doors. Jim wants his to be open. Spock wants his to be closed.

An alternative STID thing. With more literature. And esoteric faffing. And sex.

    Kirk/Spock.

WHY wasn't this in my bookmarks?! Gotta fix that. Insane levels of writing here. Need to re-read when I feel ready to go through a psychological wormhole. (In the best way.)

Which is of greater importance - a first officer’s duty and responsibility to his captain or Spock’s duty and responsibility to Jim?

That would be much easier for Spock to determine if his captain wasn’t injured, and Jim’s thoughts weren’t…red.

    Kirk/Spock; TOS; mind meld.

Kirk needs to be on prolonged vocal rest, so what better solution than Spock serving as speech translator?? And sure, doesn't that mean Spock is also going to be left interpreting the peculiar, nonverbal, deeply over-determined language of colors of emotion?! SURE DOES, my friend. Or -- Spock slowly becomes fluent in the emotional hues of others (and one beloved other, in particular). I'm a sucker for Vulcan mindscapes meeting Kirk's mindscape in particular. x

    Summary

and there are some like us,
just walking, making our feet move ahead of us,
a little bored, a little lost, a little angry,
walking as though we were really going somewhere,
walking as if there was something to see at Adelaide or maybe on King,
something that will give a fair return for this use of shoe-leather,
something that will make us smile with a strange new
happiness, a lost but recovered joy.

David/Patrick: absolutely fucking ***incredible.*** The depth of care and love for these characters -- for Ray and Ronnie! who are (IMO) better developed here than in the show, and incredible just in general -- is oceanic. The arc of this is magical, and so well done, so under control (narratively speaking), but so insightful and interesting and fun and moving. Lots of the time, just say here with a smile on my face. Also a lot of grimacing, too, for Patrick going through it. Plus like... *scalding* hot. Beyond belief. CANNOT RECOMMEND FAST OR HIGHLY ENOUGH.

    Summary

Patrick loves this motel, much more than he’ll ever say out loud. Thousands of people have slept and fucked and laughed and cried in these rooms. He feels a funny sort of peace, knowing that the story of how he and David fell in love will live between these walls, too.

This is the tenth installment of the Sex Motel series, and takes place the night before 4.12 Singles Week.

David/Patrick. DAMN. I mean this entire series is fun, but this piece (from a terrific author) is -- PHEW. All the laughter + 100* heat.
