Summary
He’s feeling pretty gross and sweaty all over, and there’s a headache poking around in the back of his skull, but it’s far from the worst hangover he’s ever had. Turning his head, slow and careful, he takes a peek over at the other bed.
Eddie and Billy are still dead to the world. Billy’s shirtless, but he never got around to taking off his shorts and boots. Eddie’s managed to lose his shoes and pants, but he’s still in his vest, and he’s somehow ended up on his back, draped over Billy’s chest. It can’t be comfortable for either of them, and Steve feels sticky just from looking at them, but still.
They seem cozy.
Steve looks away quickly. Guiltily.
[Or; five times Steve doesn't realize he's envious (or what of), plus the one time he finally gets the thing he hadn't even known he wanted.]

It’s March and it’s too cold for Billy to be shirtless and wearing shorts, but he hadn’t noticed until Harrington appeared and made him hold still. Harrington can’t seem to stop looking at the bruises. “What’s it to you if I miss a little school, Harrington?” Billy asks. He feels goosebumps rising on his skin.
“I don’t know,” Harrington snaps back, looking uncomfortable. He shifts his weight from one foot to the other. Plant your feet, Billy wants to scream at him. I’m going to bowl you over.

Summary
There’s a bottle on his neck and a boy pressed against him.
Steve should be terrified. He’s shoved higher up the wall he’s pinned to, the boy’s eyes wild beneath his tangled mess of hair, his breath all rasp and spit and fear.
The bottle presses closer, harder, almost enough to break skin.
Steve knows it won’t, though, because this isn’t the first time he’s been here.
Or, Steve keeps finding himself back in the boathouse where everything started, wrapped up in the arms of a boy who can’t stop dying. Saving him means ending his torment, and it also means falling in love.
