Summary
The first couple of dollars that the machine ate up without remorse were an annoyance, something that made Dennis sigh and unzip his wallet without thinking about it to try again. By the time that the vending machine had eaten seven whole dollars, in coins, and Dennis didn’t have anything to show for it, he was close to thumping his forehead against the cool glass and hoping he could derive some sort of enjoyment or nourishment from simply just looking at the colourful packages as they remained firmly in their coils.
He didn’t often carry coins. Those were his last few dollars and he was woefully aware that somebody had offhandedly mentioned that the staffroom vending machine destroyed notes, so he wasn’t going to be getting a soda, a bag of chips or anything else that might settle his belly from the incessant grumbling it was doing.

Steve brings Bucky back to the Tower post- CA:TWS and Bucky seems to be adjusting alright. Except he can’t relax, can’t sleep, and when he tries some self-relief (even when its imagining a certain mouthy genius with a butt that won't quit) nothing seems to work.
Tony understands Bucky's problem– after Afghanistan, it was months before he could relax enough to do that sort of thing, and when he realizes what's going on, he offers to lend a hand.
Bucky is suspicious at first, but Tony has (ahem) magic fingers, and what is originally a one time, fairly awkward moment between near strangers starts to happen more often until its not JUST a helping hand, because now it involves mouths and nakedness and then they are trading kisses and spending the night together and Tony is wearing Bucky’s clothes and stealing his pillows– but its not like they are DATING or anything.They aren’t…dating, right?

He hadn’t known. How could he? There had only been two of them on the roof that day, and he hadn’t been aware of the wire that had been feeding back his words to the sniper that sat on the roof opposite with his aim centred on John. A flash of pain washed over him as the knife cut through skin, deep enough to leave a nasty scar in its path and Sherlock hissed through his teeth and tried to keep silent. The man towering over his suspended form was tall, strong and ruthless with the blade that was decorating Sherlock’s back with what he had called his ‘masterpiece in the making’, and Sherlock could only bite down on the dirty piece of cloth that had been tied around his head in a makeshift gag. The blade swiped down what felt like the entire length of his back in one agonisingly slow move, and Sherlock couldn’t stop the tears that sprang to his eyes and dripped to merge with the blood on the floor below him.

Summary
I want a story where Sherlock was severely emotionally and physically abused by his father and his mother while not abusive herself was complicit by actively helping to cover it up but Mycroft genuinely didn't know.
Sherlock from the time he became aware of just how abnormal his treatment at home was has believed there was no way Mycroft could have missed it. From his pov his brother choosing their parents’ side over his is the basic source of their conflict.
Mycroft, who was packed off to boarding school when Sherlock was still a toddler never doubted the stories his Mummy told him about Sherlock's injuries. From his pov it seemed his once curious and affectionate little brother became inexplicably and increasingly sullen and angry as he got older.
Mycroft just doesn't get why Sherlock is so cold and hostile and self-destructive until, of course, one day he does.
Whatever the reason, I want Mycroft crushed by guilt and helpless as to how to make it up to his brother for failing to protect him. And I want Sherlock realizing that his brother didn’t know and purposely leave him in that situation and he is as worthy of love and protection as anyone else.

Summary
