Hyun-tak crouched at his locker, opened it, and reached in without looking, expecting the material of the back of his shoes.
Instead, his fingers hit paper.
Hyun-tak pulled it out slowly, like it might bite him. A folded envelope. Not crumpled like it was shoved in, but neat. As if some had placed it there on purpose.
Jun-tae leaned in close, his cheek against Hyun-tak’s shoulder. “No way!”
Hyun-tak flipped the envelope over. He thought it was something stupid, maybe something dumb like some teacher notice, some club thing. Or maybe, someone had placed the letter inside the wrong locker-
But then, he saw his own name.
