    "I'm not pretending," Louis spits out. "I care about Mina. Unlike you."
    He tries to hold eye contact, but holy fuck , Harry’s blown-out pupils make it nearly impossible. It was almost frightening.
    "Really?" Harry challenges. "You're not?"
    "No."
    "No?"
    The slam of Harry's hand against the doorframe sends Louis' heart right to his throat.
    "Then why do you keep looking at me like that?"
    His eyes snap to where Harry's arm meets the side of his head, realizing he's caged him in completely.
    "Like what?" He swallows.
    Harry grins.
    "Like you're trying really fucking hard not to."

    Louis knows his place: serving at The KettlePot, nodding along to Mina's plans for his future, and never questioning why none of this feels quite right. Then he meets her insufferable, arrogant, mate Harry. He should hate him. He does hate him. But hatred isn't supposed to feel like this. As Louis finds himself drawn deeper into Harry's chaos, he learns some lies are easier to maintain than others, especially the ones he's telling himself.

    'I know it's probably weird for us to go on a cruise together. I just don't want to waste the tickets.'

    Louis had agreed, thankfully, but not before he'd gone back and forth in Harry's messages for a few days. One second, he didn't think he'd be able to spend that much time away from New York because of his book and the next, it was that his mom might have plans — anything to grasp onto. Harry doesn't blame him; a vacation with Louis isn't ideal for him post breakup, either.

    not wanting to waste free tickets to a cruise, harry and louis agree to put aside their differences to make use of a free vacation. despite the things that remain unspoken between them, the two navigate their way through finding each other again, and learn that sometimes life can offer a second chance to get things right.

    "Where did I say it’s been easy for you, or,” he paused, staring at Harry’s lowered head and willing him to look up, “where have you ever gotten the idea that it’s been easy for me either?”
    When a few beats had passed and Louis was sure the conversation was done, Harry looked up, straight into Louis’ eyes like he was trying to physically pin him in place. “Our situations are completely different and you know it, please stop trying to - .”
    “Then let me help you fix it, Harry,” Louis interrupted, desperate to reach out and cover his hand with one of his own. “Let me help, please.”

    Harry’s the head chef at Azoff’s Catering, and he loves his job; the opportunity has always been more than he could dream of and he’s proud of the food he creates.
    Until he meets Louis, an event coordinator rising through the ranks with his own company, and who reminds him of the dreams he once had for his own career.
    While their easy friendship initially thrives in an industry known for chaos and betrayal, they soon discover they both have their secrets, and maybe it’s too late for either of them to try to find happiness outside of their work.
    Especially when they realise that their happiness might rely on each other.

    “You know,” he says. “Rich boy come tastes exactly like poor boy come.”
    Harry almost chokes on the water. This guy is annoyingly funny.

    Harry is a rich, entitled snob who has his whole life planned out by his parents. One day he meets Louis, an annoyingly attractive guy who plays in a punk band. He doesn't expect for his whole life to be turned upside down.
