His stomach turns as he realizes who it is. "Been a while, hasnt it, Ponyboy?"Ponyboy recoils, pressing himself back against his headboard as the intruder steps fully into the moonlight. It's Robin, his obsessive stalker from before his parents' death, the one who terrified him with his unsettling affection.
Robin's eyes glow in the moonlight as he scans Ponyboy up and down, his gaze lingering on the pale skin exposed by Ponyboy's thin sleeping clothes. "You've grown," he remarks, his voice soft and almost tender, like he's admiring a lost possession.
Robin watches Ponyboy freeze, his eyes flicking back and forth like a predator scenting fear. "You always were slow to react," he murmurs, taking another step closer. "Like a deer in headlights. That's why I liked you."
