Summary
An accident left Wen Kexing to lose his memories of the last seven years and with that he forgot the friendship he had built with Zhou Zishu. Zhou Zishu feels a lump in his throat that might be guilt. He sits there for a long time before speaking. “Well,” he says, and when the words finally come out they don’t sound accusatory, just resigned. A simple statement of the facts. “I never thought you would lie to me like that. So I guess we were both wrong.”
Wen Kexing's face goes unnaturally rigid—the way someone might look if they were trying very hard not to flinch.
Or, some things, once broken, aren’t so easily mended.

Summary
Prince Jin sends Tian Chuang to attack Ghost Valley, seeking the key to the World's Armoury. Betrayed by his rivals, the Valley Master is captured and brought to the palace in chains, where Prince Jin decrees that he will be married to Zhou Zishu as a low-ranked concubine. Tasked with forcing his new husband to give up the location of the armoury key, Zhou Zishu didn't bank on the Valley Master being quite so attractive - or so obnoxiously charming. As their initial distrust gives way to a growing connection, Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing begin to consider the possibility of a life outside of the Valley and Tian Chuang - if they can figure out a way to escape Prince Jin.

Time is an agonizing crawl as Lan Zhan grabs, fruitlessly, at the hem of Wei Ying’s sleeve. The fabric slips through his blood-slicked fingers. He scrambles to his feet, Wei Ying’s name tearing from his throat, eyes burning with exhaustion, misery, a grief that is already all-encompassing. Lan Zhan breathes once, twice.
