Summary

Foye had first been following them to find out what the Wu brats were up to. Technically, one of them was one of Xiejiu's boys, but he'd faked his own death only a decade after Foye's house arrest had started and had been going by Wu ever since, therefore sparking the idea of faking one's death in Foye's mind, to get himself out of house arrest where he’d been for thirty years, in a house that felt increasingly like a prison and hadn’t felt like a home in well ever but certainly not since Yin Xinyue died, so Wu brat seemed like the most appropriate name for him too.
But they seemed to be after the ghost seal. Like dumbasses.
Then his old… then Trouble appeared. And a naive, wet-behind-the-ears, young thing. Foye was reasonably sure that, if whichever of the Wu brats this was wasn't careful, he'd get his nephew and himself killed and then Trouble would blame himself again… or have another memory slip, since apparently - and fuck their family - that was a thing that could and did happen multiple times in their family Patriarch's life, courtesy of being their family Patriarch.
