Summary
You'd think after two seasons of humiliation, Heather would flip Chris off when he announced a third season for the remaining cast. But if you knew Heather (which turns out not many people do), you'd know how determined she is to win. And fortunately for her, she's stuck with a team that at least semi-tolerates her.
Alejandro is expected to have full control of his team since he has all the qualities a leader should have. Unfortunately for him, that just isn't possible when you're in a team with a competitor who also wants to be the leader, a clutz of a jock, a crazy woman who he's wondering how she's not in jail, a snarky, lazy, know-it-all, and an emo (or is it goth) who's doing everything to avoid the others. Otherwise, he's determined to win.
Sure, Lindsay's stuck with Courtney on her team again (and there's also a love square happening with her, Trent, Duncan, and Gwen?), but she's also with Owen and Cody! So now she has her eyes set on the prize (and her boyfriend Taylor).
And Noah's plan for the season is to just breeze through the season until he decides he has enough (but we all know that's not happening).

Pain radiated from his knees as he collapsed onto the sandy riverside, his feet finally giving out. “I can’t lose you again. I can’t. I CAN’T!!” He screamed, sharp claws digging into calloused hands. A pit of despair grew deeper and deeper in Owen’s stomach, a gut-wrenching feeling controlling his limbs like a marionette on strings.

She fiddled with her collar, hands dancing with nervous energy.Shelby made a move to stand and presumably leave, but Scott, ever the observant one, suddenly spoke up. “Owen, have you been crying?” It was an achingly simple question, yet it shocked Owen to his core, and he stumbled back, eyes wide with surprise. Of course, Scott noticed. A pitiful laugh broke from Owen’s throat, and he looked down, avoiding everyone’s gaze.
