Summary
Small Town Cowboy Bucky Barnes and Big City Lawyer Helmut Zemo clash over government plans to repurpose Bucky’s family land.
His fear of losing all he’s got left and barely having stepped foot off the ranch means Bucky fights tirelessly to keep the only home he’s ever known.
Zemo is adamant he wants to help the man, but the stubborn cowboy can’t see past the reclusive ways he’s always known and can’t see how much the lawyer can relate to his issues despite their obvious gap in wealth and status.The men go head to head in a legal battle that goes from the cattle ranch to the courtroom. And as sparks fly it ignites something between both troubled men that they fight to resist when it eventually leads them to the bedroom.
Inspired by Hallmark movie plots but with a big helping of Bucky and Zemo’s traumatic pasts.
POV switches between third person and first person and POV in first person also switches between characters.

Zemo starts having one night stands when on parole from the Raft working with Bucky and Sam.
Sam thinks Bucky should take a leaf out of Zemo’s book and try dating again, but he’s not ready and his long dry spell (to put it lightly) and lack of experience with the same sex makes him hesitant to explore. So he asks Zemo for help.

Original characters are not massively focused on and sex scenes that don’t involve Bucky/Zemo are described less… they help move the plot along.
