Summary
A reimagining of Stranger Things following the events of Season 4.
═══════════════════
“Our quiet town of Hawkins was just recently turned inside out, and things only seem to be getting worse. Fault lines left behind by the 7.4 magnitude earthquake…” Angie Andrews orated, though the latter half of her sentence was crunched up and spit out by static.
Mike had always thought she was kind of funny-looking, what with her unnaturally white face, dog-like jowls, and what Mike very much hoped was a wig. How his dad could stand watching her too-red lips flap about the weather at 5:30 AM sharp was beyond him.
“What appears to be volcanic ash…” static. “...magma has caused fires all throughout…” more static. “...unable to evacuate, help is available at the following locations: Hawkins High School Gym, Hawkins Presbyterian Church…”
Mike shuffled, stiff-limbed, over to their TV set and fumbled around for the knob to turn down the volume, glancing back at his parents’ shellshocked faces.

Summary
Mike visits the library to pick up a book for class, only to stumble upon a funny-looking hardback about something called Dungeons & Dragons.
═══════════════════
"First of all," Lucas said, all snooty-like. "I'm watching the Pacers game with my dad after school. Second, we'd so get bullied if we played that."
"We're bullied already!" protested Dustin.
Lucas sighed. "Bullied more. And it sounds kind of... lame. I mean, I like superheroes and comics, but this is real nerd stuff."
Mike looked back and forth between his friends wildly, throwing his hands up. "We are nerds! And it's not like we have anything better to do. Come on, Will, back me up here."
The group all looked up to Will a little bit, despite his stature, seeing as he was the oldest. He was sometimes quiet, which Mike thought made him kind of cool and mysterious, up until he wasn't and he was yapping in all of their ears about the latest X-Men publication.
"It... sounds interesting," Will said, after a brief pause. "We should at least try it out, you know? See if we like it."

Summary
Following a return to relative normality, the residents of Hawkins, Indiana enjoy a well-earned summer vacation.
═══════════════════
Dustin moaned, patting his stomach and slouching. "I think I ate too much."
"You think?" Lucas scoffed good-naturedly, kicking the empty pint of mint chocolate ice cream towards Dustin's feet. Dustin gave a rattling sigh, curling in on himself instead of kicking it back.
"Dude, I told you mint chocolate sucks," Mike said, nudging Dustin's shoulder. Unsurprisingly, he was flipped the bird. Oh, double bird. Nice. "Toothpaste," Mike whispered into Dustin's ear, drawing out the vowels.
"I wish I had four hands so I could flip you off even more," Dustin lamented, burying his forehead into the worn red cushions.

“I have a more important question,” Will says. “Um, why did the cleric have to be in love with the paladin?”
All eyes fall on Mike, the dungeon master.(Turns out, it actually was all just a longwinded campaign of Dungeons & Dragons. Naturally, the party has some concerns about Mike.)

When Max is sent away for a month for advanced out of state hospital treatment, Lucas is left with way too much time and way too many feelings. But before he can even process what that truly entails, he’s already knee deep in secrets, feelings, and “friendships” that are a lot more complicated than he signed up for.
OR: What starts as a distraction from missing Max turns into the most complicated plan of Lucas’s life as he shifts from helping Will get over Mike to setting them up together (because he’s the bestest, most supportive friend ever, obviously!)
