Summary
Jay didn't use his powers or train as often as the others. He wasn't as strong or powerful as the others. But he didn't mind either.
Lightning was dangerous and unpredictable. Deadly to the touch and too indomitable to be tamed. Something he definitely wasn't.
Jay was content to continue like this. But when he starts hearing voices in the echoes of thunder, he reminds himself that things can't stay the way you want them to for long.

The mission was meant to be a simple one, the ninja would stop the bad guys, and then Jay could go take a nap or play video games or something. But clearly, nothing could ever be simple when the entire universe had it out for him.
It was just some dumb robbery, and no one knew exactly how wrong things could go. But hey, at least Jay finally finds a purpose! (Even if that purpose dooms him, in the end. But it doesn't matter, because Jay would do anything for his family.)
