    Jon didn't mean to kill anyone. He was Superboy, the son of Clark Kent, he would never move with lethal force toward a human. He absolutely knew better and had trained his entire life to avoid ever killing anyone on accident. Maybe that was the problem... he hadn't exactly killed them on accident, had he? He wasn't sure anymore. All he knew now was that Damian was safe, his abductors were dead, and now they were in Thailand, hiding from the inevitable fallout when their fathers, the Justice League, and the rest of the world found out that a Kryptonian had gone rogue, lost control, and broken the Super Family cardinal rule.

    It's a lot messier than he would have thought his next sleepover with his best friend would be...

    “Why haven’t you ever dated someone before?”

    The question felt out of the blue, most of them did when Jon asked him something. Damian had learned that a long time ago and usually wasn’t all that surprised or interested but it was a bit more unusual of a question that it had him pause reading his book to look at the younger teen quizzically.

    They had, for the most part, been finishing their homework for the day, at least Jon had been Damian had finished hours ago while Jon procrastinated like always. Even though he had finished, Damian choose to stay to keep Jon company in the study of the Wayne manor and get a little reading done before this odd question interrupted him.

    “Since when have I ever shown any interest in something like that?” Damian scoffed, it was rhetorical but Jon looked prepared to answer, so he cut it off. “Why are you asking that?”

    Jon’s open mouth gaped, closed, opened and closed again, it was an amusing sight if not completely ridiculous.

    “It’s just, um, you know, supposed to be a normal teenage thing to do.” Jon said, but his tone wasn’t very confident and he looked embarrassed.

    No—instead, it happens like this.

    The day that Jason learns his little brother isn’t so little anymore, after all, is also the day he learns that there is no joy in this world like teasing a blushing Damian Wayne. Blushing! He can’t wait to tell Dick.

    There.

    Damian stood in the center of the chaos, talking to another league member Jon’s brain refused to register. It wasn’t his Damian, though.

    His hair was shorter—not the long, cascading curls Jon had grown used to, but a buzzed fade, like when they were kids.

    His shoulders were tenser too but that could have been due to the situation rather than a universal difference.

    And most telling, he was in combat gear—nothing Jon recognized by design, but unmistakably something bat-related.

    The voice was the same, though.

    Exactly the same.

     

    Or: Jon is on a month-long mission assisting an alternate Earth with an invasion. But being away from his boyfriend, Damian, for so long starts to take it's toll. Can this Earth's Damian help with the pain?

    This takes place about 6 or seven months after 'Favorite Uncle'. This could be read as standalone in theory but I wouldn't recommend it.
