Kingscholar hates him. It ensured Malleus would never forget this small fact. And Malleus, foolishly, couldn’t stop thinking, hoping, praying that, maybe, things would change one day.
Could he truly be safe with a beast like this?
A long, callused finger touches Malleus’s chin. He watches that blood-stained finger, enraptured by the stark contrast. Somehow, for reasons Malleus cannot begin to comprehend, all he can think about is that Kingscholar would look beautiful covered in his blood.
And then Kingscholar licks its finger. And again, as if that first taste was not enough to fully appreciate it. Its eyes meet Malleus’s. He trembles under the intensity of its gaze.
“As safe as you can be.”
After an incident during alchemy class, Malleus and Leona find themselves with a complicated situation. The journey to solve their problems will change everything.

Summary
This actually has quite a lot to do with love
Malleus would never know how absolutely crazy he drove Leona. How maddening he found his painted black lips, the wild fire that he set inside him that threatened to burn him up if he didn’t get him alone. He wondered if other people saw Malleus and thought the same… they had better not, if they knew what was good for them. This was his rival, and he was his alone… but he did not know why the thought bothered him.

All he could remember was the Raiders showing up out of the blue and complicating their whole situation.
Something moved underneath him. An arm that didn’t belong to him? He followed it up to the shoulder, and was met with the last face he wanted to see at a time like this.
“Morning Mr. Bad Attitude,” Jabber snickered on the floor next to him. Oh. Now he remembered. He had fallen into the Viper’s Wake while battling this freak.
