Summary
For as long as Marco has known him, Ace has been standoffish. He's never deliberately cruel, but he's always been closed off from the rest of the crew. The walls he's built around himself are something they've all come to accept. The sky is blue, the sea is too, and yeah. Their youngest member is a little defensive and mean sometimes.
Or at least, he is until Monkey D. Luffy crashes onto their deck, all rambunctious laughter and stretchy limbs. Ace may be a pirate now, but he was a doting big brother first.

Summary
A chase through the Ghost Zone goes awry and Danny is launched through a portal only to wind up in another country on the other side of the planet within a completely different reality. Unable to get back home, Danny has to trust these strangers and make new friends if he wants any hope of seeing his family again. It's too bad the villains have other plans.
(This is an attempt to rewrite/continue the abandoned story Haunted Halls by sirina77. It had also been briefly picked up by RavenOokami before updates stopped. I have decided to title this differently because I didn't feel like the original title really fit this story)

Danny hummed to himself, the saccharine melody a stark contrast to the grimy brick walls of the Gotham alley. The sour tang of garbage and ozone from his own fried core warred along with the thick, metallic scent of blood filled the air. His hands slick with something he refused to identify.
"You look like shit, man." The voice from the helmet was mechanically distorted, but the dry tone was clear. The man’s head tilted. "Can you tell me why you are trying to dress up as a trash can?"
Danny blinked slowly, the adrenaline high finally, blessedly, beginning to ebb. The pain was becoming a distant, roaring thing. Peaceful, almost.
He met the blank gaze of the helmet, his own eyes wide and unnervingly calm. "My organs fell out…" he stated, his voice disturbingly even. He gestured weakly with a crimson-coated hand toward the ruin of his midsection. "Don't have skin anymore."
