He couldn’t explain why thunder rumbled in the distance when his mother screamed at him, or why rain lashed the windows like a tantrum from the sky. It just… happend.

The rejection should make relief spread through him, but instead Shane thinks hysterically, I'm needy. I'm desperate. He barely keeps the words from escaping out of his mouth, biting down on his lip hard instead. Something in his scent must change despite Shane's best efforts, because Rozanov's nostrils flare and understanding flashes across his face.
"Not like you. Omega would have thrown themself at any alpha they saw. You only throw yourself at me. Da, Hollander?"
