Then another man is bounding over. Tall, skinny, just like Tommy, except a little bit taller. Brown curls pile upon his head and over his forehead. Tommy can see a strong nose, and a strong chin, and everything clicks as the man leans into Techno’s space and starts excitedly showing him the contents of a brown bakery bag.
“Oh my god! This is perfect!” Tommy exclaims, drawing the attention of the new, cooler man. Cooler because Tommy actually looks like this guy, a little bit, despite the man’s brown eyes and rounded glasses resting upon his nose.
“Excuse me,” Tommy says eagerly, practically bouncing on his feet. “Will you be my pretend-brother?”

After getting into trouble at school, Tommy has to take his brother, Phil, to Parent's Night—except Phil is always working, and always exhausted, and Tommy doesn't want to burden him...
He'll just have to find a different brother for Parent's Night instead.

It was after dinner that Tommy made his decision. “I should head home,” he said reluctantly.
“I’ll drive you,” Phil said, grabbing his keys off the end table.
Phil was quiet as they drove. Tommy fiddled with the radio for a moment before just letting it play.
He sighed and let his head fall against the window. There were so many things he wanted to say, starting with turn around and ending with please take me home with you.
Instead, he said, “Phil, I can… talk to you about anything, right?”
Phil’s response was immediate. “Of course. Anything.” He sent Tommy a look that Tommy could only classify as hopeful. “Big or small.”
“Okay.” Tommy nodded. He didn’t know why he suddenly felt like crying. “Okay.”
For a while, they just sat, stopped at a red light and listening to the blinker as it clicked away. Tommy tried to enjoy the heat of the car while it lasted.
As they turned onto Tommy’s street, Phil asked, hesitant: “Is there something you want to talk to me about, Tommy?”
For a moment, Tommy just chewed on the inside of his cheek, biting down until he tasted blood. “No,” he said finally. The lie tasted bitter on his tongue.

After two months of art lessons, Tommy very much regretted choosing it as a GCSE.
Not because he was bad at it or anything—no he loved drawing—but it was his teachers. It was how his school taught art. Everything about it sucked the creativity out of it. It took away his choice of expression, forced him to write coursework about overrated, dead artists and their dogshit contemporary pieces.
But then he got a new teacher to sub into his Friday lessons.
He didn't think someone whose last name referred to the stuff in chimneys could make him love art again. Yet, Mr Wilbur Soot did.

Between teaching five classes a day— both sophomore and junior year English— and dealing with the emotional hell that came with teaching high schoolers, it was all he could do to remember the names of his students as they flooded in and out of his classroom each day.
Tommy and Wilbur were different.
Or, the life of English teacher Technoblade in which Wilbur's a good kid, Tommy needs help, and Technoblade is very tired. Thank God Philza Minecraft is no help at all.

30 minutes, an emotional phone call to Tommy’s parents, and some tears that were totally not shed, later- Tommy is walking out of Techno’s office, a signed hall pass clutched tightly in his right hand.
As he makes his way back up the stairs to his now fifth-period class, he feels the signature annoying itch, on his left arm this time, that always accompanies a soulmate marking their body. Rolling his eyes exasperatedly, he pulls up his sleeve, expecting to find Phil’s newest lesson plan or some of Wilbur’s dumb doodles, but instead, he gets a nice surprise.
Right there, in Technoblade’s neat scrawl: “care abt u, kiddo. good luck”
Already, he can see Wilbur start to draw little, stupid, hearts around it. Phil scribbles in question marks, and writes a little ‘text me’, and underlines it twice, and Tommy knows he cares as well.
He wipes his watery eyes, smiles, and then continues his slow ascent up the flight of stairs to his next class period.

He was born with soulmates already years into their lives, born with them watching his firsts while only being allowed their seconds or thirds or fourths, etc. When he came into consciousness, somewhere around his fifth fall with no help from his mother, his soulmates were there to greet him.
They guided him through all of their minds melding together, through their deeply intertwined souls of green, pink, yellow, and red. The way Tommy describes it in his journal, his artbook, his friends, is like a hub: each soulmate reserving their own space that’s decked out in their own color with a community like center. They can talk to one another, but when one blocks the others out, their fourth grays, and nobody’s able to reach their area.

Summary
Tommy is the outcast of his small town. It's what happens when your father end up becoming the town legend for all the wrong reasons. And being the town outcast isn't easy, especially on Halloween, when everyone expects you to become your worst.
What Tommy didn't expect was the find seven ghostly sins in the oldest house in town. He didn't expect to make friends with them. And he never thought he'd get therapy from them either.
And on the flip side, the seven sins of the house never expected to find a human so un-human like. It was almost painful to watch. The boy didn't sleep, eat, care for himself, he never wanted anything, he didn't care about how others thought of him, he didn't hate the world and most importantly he didn't love himself.
Or: Depressed Tommy gets stuck in a house full of seven demons who have to show him the good side to the seven deadly sins.

“Your desire is so intense that it pulls you under immediately. It’s addicting for you, and strong, so fucking strong it’s hilarious.” Wilbur purrs, one of his hands cupping his cheek. Tommy is frozen, locked in place, his eyes wide as he stares at Wilbur.
“I really don’t even have to use it, do I? To get you to bend to my will. All it takes is a gentle, loving touch and your already falling under my natural charm.” Wilbur hums, pressing his face back against his neck.
Or Tommy is a god who had been trapped away for centuries, waiting for the day to be rescued. Wilbur is the one who finds him.

Wilbur frowns, but it's Techno who steps forward. "Tommy, he's not going to do anything," Techno tells him cautiously. "You don't need to worry, alright?"
To you, Tommy would say, if he was stronger. He's not going to do anything to you.
But he doesn't. Tommy keeps his mouth shut—whatever it takes to stay.
When Techno and Wilbur Soot-Watson anger a bully, it shouldn't be an issue. They are as untouchable as they can get, for students anyway.
It's unfortunate that Tommy, their foster brother, isn't. Being their soft spot, it only makes sense that he becomes the next target.

So Tommy can't see what's happening. He's relied heavily on sound but that's useless when the person you're listening for is just… silent.
Tommy, in his dumbass brain, considers taking a peak to see if he's still there or if he's gone now before all hell breaks loose.
The boxes flap open and crouching at the entrance is Orpheus himself. Upon seeing Tommy inside, he grins.
"There you are".

So, when the three supervillains he'd been assigned to bring in managed to take Tubbo hostage, well, there was really only one thing to do.
He knew, of course, he was signing himself up for torture and death by offering that trade, but that was okay.

In the long list of rules that Dream gave him, there were four that stuck out as the most important. Four rules that he could never break.
Stick close to the island when swimming. Always be back before seven. Never complain or hesitate to give Dream his pelt. And never, ever interact with humans.
Tommy didn’t break any of those rules often, and if he did it was a one time thing, a mistake. But this wasn’t a mistake. This was a very deliberate, very stupid move on his part and Dream would kill him if he knew what Tommy was doing. Fifteen years Tommy had lived here, and never once had he intentionally broken one of Dream’s rules. Until now.
He swims closer to the three humans.
