"Hermione pulled the sheets from her body and walked silently over to the window. She held the feather up, tilting it further into the dim light to study it. The feather shone in the starlight, reflecting it's sliver glow. It was softer than the jumpers that Hermione frequently stole from her brother, despite Remus' protests. She glanced out into the night sky and allowed her gaze to fall to the lush, green grass of the ground far beneath the tower. The air was empty, void of any black feathered birds.
She turned away from the window, crossing the distance quickly back to her bed and grabbed the other two feathers. The three of them angled down in the same arch, mirroring each other as if they had been pulled from the same wing. She stroked the three feathers softly before pulling open the drawer of bedside table and placing them inside."

Summary
In the wake of a new prophecy, Albus Dumbledore grows more desperate as the future seems to grow dim. He sends a letter with specific set of instructions and a package to a tired and conflicted Hermione Granger. Having followed the instructions, Hermione wakes up on the Hogwarts Express in 1976, feeling betrayed and lost.
