Tommy scowled. “Mrs. Puffy said we should be nice to our guests, but you have him locked in the basement!”

“Nostalgia?” Tommy interrupts. He squints at the figure, all confusing tangents and cynical jokes, the bird still perched on his head. “What, do I know you or something?”
Wilbur’s face darkens. He reaches out a hand, rubbing absently at a long slash going through his trench coat, a tear in the seams of it all. Tommy stills.
“No,” the villain finally mutters with a brittle laugh. “No, you don’t.”
…Or: Superhero AU in which Wilbur, upon waking up in an alternate universe, accidentally becomes a villain. Maybe not a very good one, though - he remains insanely, outrageously protective over the very heroes (and vigilante) hunting him down.

“LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE AN UNEXPECTED GUEST IN OUR RING TONIGHT, FOLKS!”
Tommy glances around the top of the pit, Wilbur’s shout distinct as Tommy narrows his eyes to find him. Wilbur is frantically waving his arms in the air, and Tommy waves back, ground shaking as the two robots barrel into each other.
“TOMMY!” Wilbur sounds absolutely petrified, his voice cracking as he screams. It’s hard to hear over the music and the sounds of the robots beginning their fight. “WE’RE GONNA GET YOU OUTTA THERE, OKAY?!”
Tommy nods vigorously, feeling the burn in his eyes from tears because there’s no way he’s getting out of here alive. Especially if—
“LET’S SEE HOW LONG HOTDOG-BOY LASTS DURING THE BRAWL!”
Or, in a futuristic world, Dream’s the king of an underground bot-fighting ring. His champion? A state of the art, high-tech robot simply called, ‘The Warden.’
Tommy didn’t really mean to steal the robot, it just…
Followed him home.

Summary
“Wanna play?” Wilbur asks. His arm lowers, displaying his racket to further explain what he meant. He continues when it looks like the boy is halfway to refusing and scurrying off, “Just a quick one.” Wilbur shrugs. “I won’t keep you for long. Maybe just one set.”
The court is entirely silent, not a single sound being ricocheted off equipment and blown along by the light breeze as the kid seems to… consider.
Wilbur hopes, anyway. It almost makes unease pool in his gut, how empty he’s looked up until this point. It’s nearly unnoticeable, and it is completely silent as he shifts on the balls of his feet once, twice, three times, and then—
“Ok.”
Or, in which Wilbur is a world-renowned tennis player and going on fourth-time winner of the Manburg Open, and Tommy is a ball boy on the run from his past. (for sports day :))

Summary
Again, Tommy knew he shouldn’t care. But he knew he’d never be able to live with himself if he did what Wilbur asked. This guy deserved a chance to live, even if he was undead. His chance at a normal human life had been stolen, and while Tommy couldn’t explain why, he felt like he had to make that up to him.
“Just… let me try to find you a blood source that doesn’t involve hurting people,” Tommy said, squeezing his shoulders. “Once we get that worked out, and you don’t have to worry about feeding, we can figure out where to go from there.”
The frustration slowly leaked out of Wilbur’s face, until the only thing left in the lines of his forehead was exhaustion. Not physical exhaustion, but something more. Something deeper.
“You’re the worst fucking vampire hunter I’ve ever met.”
aka the fic where Tommy's google search history is probably 'what do I do when the vampire I'm trying to kill is depressed as hell and I feel too bad to actually kill him?'

“Wilburrrr,” Tommy whines, snapping Wilbur out of his thoughts.
“What?” Wilbur asks, noticing that Tommy’s been tugging on his arm.
“I asked if we’re gonna dance! You promised you would dance with me!” Tommy says, pointing to the center of the square.
Wilbur’s eyes widen when he sees that people are pairing off, the musicians preparing to resume their playing. A bright smile spreads over his face and he grabs Tommy’s hand, noticing how his fingers are sticky with icing from the festival roll he’d already eaten.
“Yes, we’re absolutely gonna dance,” Wilbur tells him, tugging Tommy to the square.
Tommy giggles, his smaller hands squeezing Wilbur’s, and Wilbur’s smile grows wider as his bare feet hit the warm cobblestones again.
or, Wilbur is an orphan who lives on the streets, Tommy is a rich kid who likes to run off, and it's the day of the festival. Aka, Wilbur's favorite day of the year. Too bad Tommy's penchant for running away has finally caught up to him.
